Kolkata, Oct 31: The Election Commission would publish the final Photo Electoral Roll for 282 of the 294 assembly seats in West Bengal on January 10 for the coming Lok Sabha election, state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Debashis Sen said here on Friday.
After an all-party meeting on the issue, Sen said that the draft Photo Electoral Roll would be published on November 10, while application for inclusion or correction could be made till November 14. The revision of Photo Electoral Roll would be on the basis of voters attaining the age of 18 on January 1, 2009, Sen said.
Sen also said that booth-level agents of recognised political parties would be involved in the current Photo Electoral Roll revision process. Sen also said that five per cent works of voter ID cards were still left and this would be completed between November 10 to November 14 from the respective polling booths. On the reservation of political parties on ban on wall writings, the CEO declined to make any comment saying that the circular was effective for the entire country and not for West Bengal alone.
